Backstory
Originally a child in Namai during the Garlean Occupation, Daikisho and his birth parents attempted to flee to Kugane when his father discovered there were plans to forcibly take Daikisho into the Garleans' "care," turning him into a war youth.However, his parents were caught, and subseqentially killed, right in front of Daikisho's eyes. With her final breaths, Daikisho's mother pled for her son to flee "to where the Garleans dare not tread;" the Azim Steppe, a land declared pointless for conquest. With quick feet and determination, Daikisho managed to flee into the tunnels leading from Yanxia to the Steppe, losing the Garleans in the darkness.However, the distance was grand, and a child's constitution could only carry so far. Collapsing in the tunnel, his fate, however, wouldn't find his end here. For within the tunnels lived a hermit medicine man, living amidst the stone walls.Seeing potential in Daikisho, he bid the boy to drink a potion, but Daikisho was hesitant and defiant at first, refusing the man's "pity." When it was clear the hermit had no qualms on leaving him behind, Daikisho would swallow his pride, and put his trust in the mysterious Xaela.Almost instantly, his chest would burn. His blood felt like fire, his heart raced with new life, and a sharp glow took to his red eyes. Brimming with new energy, he would continue on, leaving the hermit behind.That potion contained the ashes of an Auspice, and unknowing to Daikisho, consuming the potion awoken in him a Phoenix's heart. His body practically brims with energy, fire magic comes naturally to him, and the most miraculous of all, as long as the heart was strong, no wound was too mortal to heal.In the end, he made the journey to Reunion, where the neutral Qestir oversaw the markets. Only when he saw more people did he collapse once more, the hunger and thirst and fatigue finally winning.Here, the Qestir nurtured the boy back to health, and from there, called upon the Raen Elder of the Malaguld tribe to evaluate and take in the boy.There, he was adopted into the tribe. The young son of a lesbian couple and their older daughter.
At a Glance
Feather Hair Pin
When out, Daikisho almost always wears his hair up in either a high ponytail, or a half-up style, with a gifted hair pin. The pin itself is of a beautiful, silver design, with a careful filigree pattern etched of a Phoenix spiraling up. Attached to the pin is a simple hair tie, circled around the bright gemstone, that bounds a brilliant, white swan feather to the end. The feather, strangely enough, seems to pulse with an interesting aetherial signature, and seems immune to the degradation of time.
Well-Loved Blade
Attached to his hip when he's out and about is a sheathe of a traditional Sekiseigumi blade, that seems to be showing its age. While decorated and tended to with care, some missing designs can be seen. The blade, when withdrawn, looks perfectly ordinary at a glance, but quickly takes on runic flames when held by Daikisho. When wielded by any other, the blade appears to be of modest-yet-sturdy make, and takes on no bizarre properties.
Manlet
While calling an Auri man a "manlet" may be a bit of an exaggeration to other, smaller races, Daikisho definitely runs smaller to most other men of his race. Standing at 6'5", his smaller disposition doesn't seem to sway him from his passions and impulses.
Glasses
During his brief stay in Kugane, Daikisho was approached by a glasses merchant, who noted the youth's squinted eyes and issues navigating the busy, city streets. Finding out the man was practically blind, he gave Daikisho a pair of glasses, free of charge, to bid him well on his ventures. While that pair was lost during an encounter to the seas, Daikisho remembers the kindness of the merchant well, and wears a new pair in both honor of the man, as well as to keep his vision sharp.
Glowing Eyes
While the glow of limbal rings isn't uncommon within Auri individuals, Daikisho's eyes actually glow completely. Red eyes accented by orange limbal rings, his eyes burn with determination, as much as a warmth not unlike a fire. It also makes his oddly-shaped, slit pupils all the more noticeable.
A Mix-Match of Horns
Compared to other Auri men, Daikisho was born with a multitude of horns that decorate his head. Downward horns that reach just below the chin, winged growths that grace the side of his head, even oni-like protrustions that poke upon the forehead; the man certainly has a sharp disposition. Just don't go giving him hats as a gift, unless you want the poor thing ruined!
Tiny Fangs
When Daikisho flashes one of his winning grins, one can notice his teeth are slightly sharper than one would expect. While not unwieldy, it's enough to add some character to his grins.
Hooks
Thanalan
A new explorer to Eorzea, Daikisho currently finds himself within the desert lands of Thanalan the most. The climate is the most agreeable to him, and it was thanks to his newfound friend S'uga that he made landfall as soon as he did.
Broke Boy
Coin never was something Daikisho considered much, as his people often traded items for items. As such, he finds himself low on coin a lot, and tries to take on odd jobs as he can; even if he's unaware of what's considered a poor deal for him.
Illiterate
While Daikisho's people are not wholly ignorant of the written word, having many Raen amongst them that came from educated backgrounds, Daikisho never took it upon himself to learn any sort of Hingan writing. That, coupled with his new ventures, shows him quite incapable of reading even the simplest book, or writing a single letter in any language.
Trilingual
While Daikisho can appear quite dense of simple concepts and phrases, one thing he isn't foolish on is a quick penchant for picking up languages. Learning both Xaelic and Hingan upon the Steppe, due to the nature of his Tribe, and quickly picking up Eorzean Common from merchants that settled at Reunion, Daikisho's mind is sharp when it comes to learning how to communicate and bond via language.
A Farmer's Son
The people of the Malaguld are a diverse tribe. One such aspect was the husbandry of peafowls, brought in by past Raen tribesmen when they were accepted into the tribe. Daikisho, helping his dear mother Zaya, would often spend his time with said peafowl. From feeding, to gathering eggs, butchery, and even riding particularly notable fowls that were blessed by geomancy across the Steppe, Daikisho not only has a fondness for the beautiful birds, but possesses a knack for avian husbandry.
A Yol's Companion
Owing to a violent, brazen encounter during his 21st summer, Daikisho actually won the respect of the most noble of beasts upon the Steppe; a mighty Yol. While technically he did not complete the daunting Bardam's Mettle, there's no denying that this particular beast answers only to Daikisho. Many a caught eye has been witnessed in his travels, as he prefers to ride his companion over a more practical choice, like a chocobo.
Fire-Aspected
Daikisho possesses an uncanny affinity to fire magic in particular, at the detriment to other types of magics. He does possess a rudimentary understanding of healing magic, though it mostly involves cauterizing wounds.
Extreme Regeneration
Owing to a chance encounter in his youth, Daikisho possesses a nigh-insane level of regeneration. So far, there hasn't been a limit seen to what he can recuperate; from torn muscle, to exposed organs, Daikisho probably should have been dead by now.

RP Yays and Nays
Off the bat, I run off of a lot of personal headcanons for the Malaguld tribe, as there is no other information beyond "They accept people of the Raen." If some of my headcanons are not to your liking, my apologies. However, I would love to discuss headcanons to any who personally play or write Malaguld characters, too!
I'm usually down for all sorts of Roleplays. If you see me in game, it never hurts to poke me to see if I'm down for an In-Game one!
No Adult/Lewd RP out the bat. I only do those when I feel comfortable with the person I'm RPing with. Furthermore, I will only potentially do Lewd RP if both the character and RPer is at least 20, bare minimum.
No metagaming to exploit weaknesses not learned naturally, please. I'm aware Daikisho has an innately strong design, but I try my best to make sure he's not an unstoppable force.
Darker RPs are okay, as long as there's no overtly triggering themes (No SA for example.) However, I try to keep those to a more reasonable degree, so I don't dampen my mood badly.
I am an LGBT+ Positive RPer. I'd prefer not to deal with topics like Transphobia, Homophobia, or any other form of Queerphobia. In a great big fantasy world, I'd really rather not have that be the major conflict.
I'm a mostly long-formed RPer with responses. However, I am fine if one prefers to keep responses short. As long as I feel like I have something I can work with, I'm more than happy to just be Roleplaying.
